exercise/workout question - body building -?

I used to work out, but I never stayed to my routine. I would exercise for a few days, then stop and then after a couple of weeks start again, but I have never sticked to a routine.
- I was just wondering, if anyone knew a good way to stick to your routine , or
- If anyone knows a workout routine that is not over a long period of time and effective.
