Which brand or type of vitamins or suppliments should I be taking for general health and weight loss?

I am a 30 year old guy and recently began an intense workout schedule (both weight lifting and cardio) in order to better tone my body, build muscle, and lose weight. I have been advised by several trainers that I should be taking multivitamins, fat burning pills, and other suppliments.
